…to critique his work and offer some suggestions.
I decided not to focus on giving technical advice, because I believe that’s up to a shooter to figure out.
The one thing that was glaring to me however, was the level of model he is shooting and the way he’s producing his shoots.
Most of his models (with some exceptions) are 6’s and 7’s.
I told him, he needed to up his game and shoot 8’s and 9’s.
Pay models if he has to and also invest in great hair, make-up and styling occasionally.
Terry Richardson’s point and shoot style would be lame if he shot 5’s.
But he shoots 9’s and 10’s. Love him or hate him (I personally dig him!), he gets supermodel level chicks to do unspeakably naughty things on camera and that’s a gift.
I spent alot of my amateur years shooting 6’s and 7’s, but made them look like 8’s and 9’s, one of the qualities of a shooter with a discerning eye. It’s hard to achieve this but Marc Goldstein of “The Red Chair” also does it brilliantly. He’s often shooting 7’s but making them look like 10’s! Big props to him, because it’s far easier to take a 9 and make her look like a 9. Btw, you can check out his terrific work here
When you examine (hehe) the best porn sites like Digital Desire, Twisty’s, Met-Art, Femjoy, Hegre-Art, FTVGIRLS and even Bangbros. occasionally…the one thing they have in common is they consistantly shoot the hottest women they can find.
So, that’s my thought for the day.

I had a studio in Hollywood for 8 years and it’s really quite impossible to tell you all the adventures that were had in that time. Unless you saw it with your own eyes, it would be hard to believe all the freaks, wannabe’s, con artists, strippers, porn chix, escorts, actresses, models (and occasionally their moms), musicians, artists and celebrities I shot in that time.
I enjoyed it all.
There’s always a time to move on, and now i’m in a much more mellow daily environment where I can focus in on making OGO and my other business ventures a success.
Here’s a shot of Johana Rain, and she’s one of those models that lingered in my thoughts, long after she was gone.

Today I set up my SHOP to sell OGO merchandise.
One of the items I designed today was from a drawing I did when I was 16 yrs. old in High School.
I was awarded “most artistic” in a very large High School in Watertown Ma.
Every night I would run home, get very, very high then draw for 3 straight hours listening to Beatles music on my headphones.
I did this all during my Senior Year in High School.
Being painfully shy and having absolutely no rap with girls, I got a lot of notoriety from jocks and cheerleaders who found out that I was the one who drew the 4 pictures that were displayed in the front entrance of the high school.
These drawings (like the one on this OGO t-shirt) were drawn with a 29 cent BIC pen.
I was really out of my mind back then.
Still am.
It would take me like 20-30 hours to do a drawing like the one above.
When you have artstic talent, you are revered in High School…because everyone wants to draw, but most can’t.
It made me instantly popular.
I was doing hyper-realism back then…that changed to abstraction in Art College.

This tee was fashioned for male glamour/erotica photographers like myself.

This was the second time I worked with Kymberly Jane, and I think she’ll agree that she prefers not having clothes on.
This was shot mostly natural…no strobes, with slight fill from Gary Fong’s diffuser (I bought the very first Lightsphere).
I use them 70% of the time when I shoot models, usually mixing it with natural or some other light source.
I’m of the Helmut Newton school of “whatever fits in one camera bag.”
What’s nice about this approach, is that I can stay focused on the model, her pose, her expression, her mood etc…instead of focusing on untangling a cord thats wrapped around the pool table.
It’s this razor focus that’s served me well over the years.
There is no one right way in photography…it’s whatever you can make work for you at any given time.

I decided to move this model to Backseat Babes to feature another BSOMC model instead.
ONLYGIRLSONLINE.COM is moving along at a good steady pace.
Shelby Katz was the 100th model to register, so I decided to honor her with an original OGO tee shirt.
She requested black, so in less than 30 minutes I designed and ordered a spaghetti strap tee with our logo on it which i’ll send to her.
Nothing better than spreading good will

When OGO formally launches March 15th, I will be an active member as well as the ADMIN there.
It will give me a chance to create a different style of images than what you’ve come to expect here.
I have some great ideas, and like always…I will deliver.

When I first saw Jody Love’s port on Model Mayhem (a.k.a. Jody Kovac)
it was nothing like it looks like today.
There were a few amateur looking pics only- with a hint of nudity.
I wondered if she was right for my new adult site…but there was something in those pics.
Fast forward to 2010 (5 yrs later) and if you look at her port now, you’ll see a lot of artistic and beautifully sexy photographs.
My memory of Jody is that she was the kind of gal I could fall for,
so photographing her was a real treat.
